I've used the MP-110 extensively on an SP1200 for needledrops, it's decent. I wouldn't have thought it would do better than the dj specific cartridges for dj'ing though. I'm still a big fan of the Stanton for dj'ing, they're brilliant at dance music especially 45's. MP-110 excels for different genres.
Picked up a set of 1210mk2's recently to give mixing a go. Need to replace the needles and would appreciate some advice or recommendations.
Currently got a Nagaoka mp30 which needs to be replaced along with original headshell. £60 for just the needle. The decks came with technics heads and stanton cartridges, one needle sounds good enough to use briefly while the other is toast. Plan is to learn how to mix properly and get a few gigs here and there if all goes well, no heavy scratching/ hip hop don't stop vibes, just bits of reggae, disco, funk, cumbia so light backcueing..
Undecided wether to just buy a set of Ortofon Club mk2 for £220 or a new mp110 needle and another Mp110 Cart/stylus/headshell for £165? Then sell the stanton cartridges and technics heads on ebay to help with the costs.
This guy - https://floriankeller.net/perfrect-dj-cartridge/ seems to give a pretty indepth review of actually DJ'in with them and inclined to believe him
