Racist shutters. I like them very much but also feel bad for having some.

Bathroom is getting there, ready to be tiled next week. Back of the house mostly finished (for now) with just some snagging on a few bits

Dat bathroom

Mid-March - there’s been a few delays and some scope creep hence taking longer.

Has anyone bought/used any of the recycled plastic surfaces?
wanted terrazzo for windowsill and niche for bathroom but you have to look after it and the ceramic look terrazzo tiles do not hold the pattern/colour through the material and I hate tile trims and want to see a nice cut edge, fine for the floor but will not work for the sills as there will be different tiles on wall so you can’t do a mitred corner and get the colour all the way through.it’s one of those materials where it’s ‘enquire for pricing’ which annoys the hell out of me.

Smile plastics ? Looked at them a bit. Expensive I expect

Smile plastics are expensive - you could look for companies which have used them for bespoke furniture as they might have excess. I got an offcut from VG&P for £10

I hope so as daughter needs to get into nursery!

Yeah - I’m really looking forward to it. Think the shower is gonna be mint - so glad to have a built in shelf at last!

If it was pink you mean?
-
• #5668
It’s relatively small things like that that make a massive difference and where some thinking goes a long way.
Big difference how considered that whole space is compared to just putting a bathroom in it. -

I’m working on the assumption it will be pink, are all bathrooms not pink?

look terrazzo tiles do not hold the pattern/colour through the material
You can get real terrazzo tiles that do.
Mandarin Stone is a place that does them.

Yes but we have to factor in the aftercare which isn’t an issue with porcelain, not decided on that yet

Just had a quote direct from this supplier: desiva.pl for a washstand and 2 custom sized wall cabinets for the bathroom which came to £1500 with no vat as they are in Poland. I think they may build for other trendy western european brands but want a bit of the market for themselves, not 100% on that but I know Poland is where a lot of furniture is made.
wasn’t sure on VFM but then i looked at the price of similar pieces from know brands and it almost looks like a bargain. -

I always thought Naked Doors looked good/good choices.
I think it also depends how long your front garden is / how busy your street is. We always have people walking past going to the local park and they're only a couple of feet away, so you feel quite "on display" in the front room. Hence it's a room we only really use at night with the pl**tn shutters closed.
