  • Also I assumed 3:45 was minutes, rather than hours, so I got to listen to Erasure - Sometimes, and that was great too.

Me too - then shortly afterwards Verity came up with 'in a few minutes we'll be meeting a man who's started a local knitting club'. I rather wondered how Anderson was going to get to the high lights I'd heard from a discussion about knit/purls..

  • I read something recently, I think it was written by Nick Tyrone, that argued that Farage will hold off re-entering mainstream politics until he knows who is set to lead the Tories into the next election. If it's Sunak, he'll do it, but if it's Johnson then he knows he doesn't stand a chance so he won't.

I also read something on a repeat of 1997, can't remember who by though. They argued quite persuasively that a repeat is very unlikely as the polling is consistently bad for the Tories, across the whole country, and tactical voting will have a yet to be determined impact but that it won't be in their favour.

  • 'I for one would 100% support the return of the death penalty for those who crochet'

  • Maybe a repost but if so worth reminding ourselves of the company this man keeps (and that’s not mentioning being binned as a Labour councillor for getting an ASBO) ….

  • Nads is going (at the next election). Off to grift on gbnews or write some shit books or something.
Rats all leaving the sinking ship now.

  • Isn't she expected to be given a seat in the House of Lords as part of Johnson's resignation honours?

  • Oh god yes. I had bleached my mind of that ridiculousness.

  • This fucking country

  • Nosh for honours?

  • I think the Boris honours list another car crash incoming, by elections and more scandals

  • I don't understand why he's still got an unannounced honours/bribery list on the go and we're almost rid of the second PM since ousting the cunt.

  • This fucking country

    All. Of. This.

  • He'll be PM again before it's published.

  • Hasn't Truss also got a list even though she barely unpacked her stationery.

  • Oh people of Rhyl, why do this to yourselves?

  • A lot of people in the classic Scooter scene are exactly like this. I stopped going out with Luton Lambretta Club and Milton Keynes SC when I lived down sarf as I was sick to death of constant casual and not so casual racism, xenophobia and Britain First mentalities.

Love scooters, hate a lot of the total cunts that ride them.

  • I don't know the reason for this but possibly the queen's death slowed the process of adding new lords.

  • 841 votes cast - that minus 20% for lab is c.160 voters?!

  • Yeah - the difference between Con and Lab is 11 votes!

  • Local council can be a lot more about personalities and who actually engages and does things, especially with so few votes cast.

  • We clearly need a 'Resurrection of the Tory party' thread.

  • Shades of Paxman's "did you threaten to overrule him" to Michael Howard. I take his point that none of us are infallible, but he let his temper get the better of him. Expecting your history not to follow you around is wishful thinking. He does clearly say "don't play this interview" which they then do, so probably a 10-1 final tally.

  • A lot of those scooter types are stuck in one fake 60's insular 1980s scene, and have never grown out of it, or even worse, did but life was shit, so they then regressed back into their safe place.

I love the bikes but never enjoyed the "scene" aspects of scootering. Being forced to like Oceans Colour Scene, go to northern soul nights, or hanging out with skinheads in green bomber jackets.
