One would think that it was made under the panasonic flag. This page though from the good design award, speaks of the National Bicycle Indusutrial Co., Ltd (Japan)
https://www.g-mark.org/award/describe/22708?token=8l0tbBrbmo
Edit: this company had 3 brand names: Panasonic, National and Hikari.

I always thought it was a bit strange for a bike to share a brand with batteries and electronics...
And until the internet, I'd only ever seen the cheapest, nastiest examples. Assumed it was a department store sort of thing. Kind of odd to see the brand actually has prestige...
Makes me think it's a shame Yamaha never made pushies.
!
Imagine a Yamaha groupset...

Bridgestone and Miyata stand out as brands that made a bunch of other stuff also.

I think I saw 'Mitsubishi Heavy industries' on a biro cartridge once

I like BMC's, but this looks quite fragile for a CX frame
Edit: nice rack btw, puzzles me though how it hangs sturdy? -

What a handsome bike, love it. Reflection on the rear caliper made me think it was a Magura for a split second though!

You say that because of the thin seat stays? It's a matter of perspective cause they are actually quite flat and thick so the frame does feel really solid :) And yeah the rack moves a bit up and down compared to a bolted one but it holds up pretty well

Thanks, that gives me piece of mind. It's a bloody nice bike, would be a crying shame to write it off after running off a curb.

What about these carbon panasonic frames, do you know whether they were built in-house or just labelled as panasonics?
