New project, need most of a bike. swept bars, long drop brakes, saddle, pedals, mech, levers etc

I'm starting to build a Dawes Lady Galaxy with what I have, plus more. Most of what I have got is retro mtb stuff, so I'm thinking I will use a retro mtb 8speed drivetrain as I pretty much have that, bar a rear mech.

I've basically sold most of what I need on here over the last couple years which is a bit silly but I imagine that's the same for lots of us here! I'm in Bristol so it will need posting, or collection here.

On my list:

1. swept back alloy bars in silver. no steel please, trying to keep this a relatively light build
   
2. pedals
   
3. comfy saddle
   
4. a silver 27.0 seatpost (I think this is sorted)
   
5. retro mtb rear mech, ideally XT m739
   
6. Tektro long drop brakes r559
   
7. flat bar cantilever / short-pull brake levers
   
   

not on my list any more:

1. Short 1" quill stem, silver, c. 60-80mm
   
2. 1" JIS headset
   
3. 700c wheelset. All silver. 8 speed cassette compatible i.e. 130mm spacing on rear.
   
   

Probably more later as the project evolves.

got some Nitto bars and matching stem as well as tektro crosstop levers which may be of interest?

Just checked - they are Nitto moustache bars and a nitto MT10 stem

have some bits, but could you be a little bit more specific on:

pedal requirements: modern flat/DMR type/clip ins
Saddle: male/female, narrow, wide, gel, suspension ...
Brake levers: black/silver, Steel/Hard plastic/alloy, retro/modern?
Handlebar clamp diameter

There's an XT 739 RD on ebay at the moment in good nick

I have a XT M739 in the shed atm actually, with no jockey wheels.

Thanks for your reply. I’m flexible on pedals, black bmx plastic ones would be ideal and I’ll take them for myself and give her some I already have, but I am happy with the older style metal cage pedals. Not clipless.

Saddle is for a woman, no idea what she’s going to like but yeah something fatter/gel etc.

Levers I think I’m going to buy tektro FL750s in silver / silver as they’re v affordable and will suit the build, so unless anyone has any of those (or similar?) I think I might just buy new.

Handlebars need to be 25.4 please 🙂
