In fairness, although clearly quite miffed he lost against one of the worst teams in the league, I didn't see him make too many excuses. Just trailed off about loving the players more than he did yesterday.
He basically said they worked all week on them being a threat at set pieces and then they scored from one. The criticism was implied rather than direct, but then he came out with the love stuff and all the media lapped that up.
