Hadn’t been on ebay in months. Had a speculative log in whilst 6 beers deep and this was staring me in the face. What was I supposed to do? I’m not a monster.

Built a full-suspension Packster 70 this morning - what a dreamy ride.
Unsurprisingly not the best climber though. Enviolo is going to be pretty much non-viable in hillier locations with two kids up-front.

Did a small shop on the way home from picking up from FC. So much easier without the Hamax. Can't wait for her to out grow it.

Have not seen many drop bar cargo bikes here. Apart from the weight, I wonder how it would ride.

Service at FC was grand, apart from the HOWFUCKINGMUCH?!?!?! for two new chains. They at least gave me the remainder of one of the chains so next time it needs replaced I only have to buy one. I think before any future service, I will swap chain and cassette myself. At least the bike is all nice and clean with a fresh wax type (silicone spray?) type job.
However, while they did replace the rear pads (again, something I'll do myself next time as I've already done it once), the rear brake lever has too much throw. Anyone done a rear bleed on a GSD? What is the correct method?

What is the correct method
What are the brakes on your bike?
Fully charge probably has already looked but before bleeding I’d have a check of the pad and rotor wear. Also- Before messing about with a full bleed Id recommend putting a bleed block in and burping, seeing if you can sort it that way.
Last thing have you adjusted your throw at the lever? Ie brought it closer to or further from the handlebar

They replaced the rear pads, I would expect less lever travel, not more after that. I have been given some intel by our very own patron saint of Magura brakes so have a kit ordered to do a lever bleed as a first step. If FC were close I'd just bring the bike in to them and say "please to make fix", but I'd lose half a day at least.

Cool, Lever bleed / mini bleed / burp are all synonyms for the same thing afaik…
Personally don’t like doing a bleed / burp with pads or rotors in, although less of an issue if pads and rotors are new. The main reasons being is you can overfill the system and make it difficult to reset pistons / worst case they can over extend and leak.

I imagine it would be just fine, until you have a bit of cargo that completely interferes with the handlebars and makes it unrideable :)

Also, as I was hemorrhaging money on it, I got some new pedals ordered and some mudflaps. I'm going to also look for an aftermarket harness for mini_com so I can see if I can get her on the bench seat soon.

keep me posted on the transition to bench seat
also this is a good deal

transition to bench seat
Realistically, it's not going to be until she stops falling asleep in the Hamax. Which might be easier with the lighter evenings.

Anyone with a Tern GSD insterested in a set of Sidekick Double Wides? Took them off as I was having to fold them up constantly to get in and out of my gate and they weren't actually serving much purpose for me. Bit scratched as a result but would do £100 for anyone here (£220 RRP).

Following the below instructions and using the below kit, successfully bled/burped the rear brake and it is working better than when I bought the bike. Took a couple of attempts as I was rushing and my hands were cold (forgot to cover the hole on the syringe when removing it first time and took a few seconds to realise I was dripping mineral oil all over the patio). Also, first time I didn't push the pads back (again, lazy/rushing/cold). But, success. Very satisfying seeing the bubbles come out under vacuum. Great visual representation of the issue being literally sucked out before your eyes.
Magura MT5, for reference.

Do you have a rear rack? Possible to support them from rack, toptube, and extend over cargo areA..?
-
• #11024
Tape them together so they don’t keep splaying out. Might be inclined to strap them to the steerer tube and seat tube so they run between your legs and don’t stick out the front or back. I carried a 3m long fruit picker like this.

I test rode one out of interest and loved it. Convinced my best friend to buy one. Rides real nice.
I has anyone else been in touch with Clemens @iumentum ? I've not had much luck getting responses for a couple of months.
I'd still quite like to buy one of his framesets though.
