A friend of mine did a ~100km 60% SFAB ride on 28c Gators, he was also 2 of 5 which didn't puncture. Couldn't steer for toffee though.

Wolftooth? Got one on the Crust and had them on the Midnight Special before. Worked a dream.

That seems to be the only option. Very expensive though.
Is it quiet? The garbaruk ring on my road bike is very noisy with the flat top chain

Nice. I honestly prefer winter rides like that than gambling with heat stroke in summer.
Trying to arrange a move out to the PNW this year - I'm ready for consistently miserable but rideable weather instead of too cold / too windy / too hot / incredible (Fall).

Yeah, spring and fall riding are easily my favorite time of year to ride here.
Oof. Rather you than me. Any idea where? I tell myself all the time that I want to live there and then I think about it more and I don’t think I could hack it. And my dogs definitely couldn’t hack it 😂

Aiming for Seattle but all depends on work situation. We'll see. Definitely west coast anyway.
I quite like the idea of weekend trips to cities down the coast by sleeper train :)

Not something I've considered actually. I'll have a spin later and let you know.
But yeah, not cheap. I just didn't find any other option. They do seem to last forever though.

Anyone else got a Rujo? Loving mine so far, very fast curing my knee pain. Just have to decide whether to go Shimano M520 or Time Atacs

Me and the internet seems to be on team pd520 (if it's the xc2 that's the Atac being compared).
To be fair I haven't got any experience of the XC2 ( I have a pair in the parts bin but the 520 hasn't given any reason to be replaced:)).

I’m on A520 but then again it is a road bike.

Or, Look x-track. They have a greater float angle, nice pedals

I rode a Look style clipless system for a while never really got on with it and fixed I ride flats and straps or vintage clips. But want to try clip less again such a dinosaur I am. So the easiest to get used to

Also I really want to big up the On-One Rujo. I got this for £1250 but I hace seen Planet X doing one day deals for £999. I LOVE the colour. Well specced, great geometry, immediately confident ride. The kind of bike you climb off and can't wait until you can climb back on. Love it

Maybe a candidate for a 2020s Arcose?

Stay on the west coast, you don’t want to put up with this bullshit.

Why not? It's a classy ride. Also delivered the day after the build date they said when I ordered it and seriously well put together by their mechanics. And it has a very sexy bum, lovely curved seat and chain stays.

Time Atacs. On all bikes since day one 14 years ago and never regretted it. Enough float to keep knee pain away and have always kept me 100% secured on fixed. T

I used S-tracks for a while and they were shite

Have not read a single good review about S tracks.

I really liked the feel of S-tracks but I broke 3 pairs in a year so gave up

I like S-tracks. Been using them for years. For whatever reason they're the kindest to my gammy knee (a bad injury from a while ago). The main, massive drawback is that they're not really serviceable. Once the bearings go they're ready for the bin.

I found that they were pretty poor at actually holding on to my feet. I came unclipped from them on several occasions both on and off road including one time mid air on the MTB which made for an unpleasant landing.
What are the options for sram flat top chain compatible 1x rings at the mo? 110bcd
For the gravel usage
