I don't think bikes often get resold in the form they got stolen. I had my Orange Patriot stolen and a carbon road bike. The patriot is rare enough that I'd spot it on eBay/Facebook but I think they get broken up. There's a few sellers on eBay who list hundreds of parts week after week - where are they coming from? The link below is to someone selling what are almost exactly my cranks, but how would I know for sure unless every part was tagged, and how do I know he's not genuine either? It would be interesting to see if there was a way of spotting a few of these sellers and seeing if rare or easily spotable parts from recently stolen bikes start coming up....
