• How easy is it to switch out of an Economy 7 tariff onto a standard one? We're paying through the nose on our current Shell account, and are not using huge amounts of overnight electricity as we are not using the immersion heater that came with the house (rather we are using the gas boiler to heat the water we need for the evening bathtime routines). When I quote on Octopus the default offering is another Economy 7 tariff and won't let me proceed on a standard one. Not sure why this is - presumably the meter readings on a standard tariff are identical to an E7 one, but the latter simply gives an additional reading to monitor night time usage between 8pm-8am?
