Thanks. I think what I have done was right in that case. I need to hand these duties over. I'm the Nadhim Zahawi of the organisation.

I'm the Nadhim Zahawi
send me the £5million and I will make sure it gets to the right people...
You can trust me, my name is up there and an actual picture of me to the left. -

I'm after some R8 bearings. I can see some ABEC1 options with rubber seals but nothing better. I'm happy with the rubber seals. I'm not sure if ABEC is the best thing I should be looking at for tolerances and quality but I want as close to the best I can get (unless price becomes ridiculous)
Where the fancy R8 bearings at?

Where the fancy R8 bearings at?
How fancy? Enduro are bike-optimised, several grades for hubs or full complement for suspension pivots
-
• #115931
Yeah those LLU MAX ones are plenty fancy, thanks!
Google didn't come with the goods so I started looking locally (Lithuania) and came up with basic quality results.
Now to see if i can find some closer to home.I guess the $26 ceramic ones are meant to perform better than the suspension pivot MAX offering?
Not sure I'll find those in EU anyways -
• #115932
The MAX (full complement) is optimised for pivots, and should not be used in hubs. The ceramic ones are optimised for hubs, and shouldn't be used in pivots.
-
• #115933
Hmm
My application is closer to hubs than pivots
😅Thanks again!
-
• #115934
Wait, why shouldn't MAX bearings be used in hubs? They're just more balls and not caged right?
-
• #115935
Visa versa? Vise versa? What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Holy fucking grammar nazi moment, but they should get this shit correct.

Can I split a €100 note in London without paying a fee? I'd like to swap it for 5x €20.
-
• #115939
Any branch of a reputable bank, or building society should do the split free of charge, but they won't be open until Monday morning.
Currency exchange outlets might, but probably have a ludicrous minimum charge for even letting you ask the question.

Lovely, I'll go and find on next week.

Are there high street shops that do the same kind of make your own card as Moonpig, etc?
-
• #115942
Snappy Snaps do personalised card printing. Not sure how automated it is.
-
• #115943
Cheers, Snappy Snaps did the job.

Can you strap a whole bike to a backpack and cycle it home?
Need to collect a fixed beater bike. A frame alone is easy. Assume you can take the bars off and strap the wheels to the frame and make it work?!
-
• #115945
Yes, but they're heavy if you've got to go far.
-
• #115946
2 trips?
-
• #115947
hadn't considered weight, makes sense on a heavy beater (11-12kg) and is 14 miles. Could leave the wheels behind if faff and the seller if happy with free wheels.
-
• #115948
I've done it, but have always gone body through centre triangle of frame. You'll need to take bottle cages off and be very sure not to crash
-
• #115949
If it rolls, consider postilion. That's how we used to move bikes which had got separated from their riders when we were young.

Wife needs a small laptop so she can use Smart Notebook at school (teacher not student). Her mac is too old to install the latest OS which is a requirement.

Whats the best bet for a cheap laptop to run this/use in a classroom. Portability and low cost definitely a plus.
ha, welcome to my world. I'm treasurer for my local tri club, mainly as a favour rather than because I know what I'm doing. making it up as I go along.
