Elephant National Forest Explorer - 650b low trail

Hi,

I’m selling my Elephant National Forest Explorer.

It has been a great bike to own. It is very versatile as a road/gravel bike, taking me on lots of camping trips and doing all my commuting and shopping.

650b wheel size and low trail fork geometry means it handles weight on the fork really well. It still feels lively and nimble to ride even when loaded.

I’ve included lots of photos as it has various scrapes and one very small dent in the top tube. The rear end also had some rattle can paint a year or two ago so that some scratches didn’t rust.

Size Large - effective top tube 58cm

Steerer is uncut and there’s 70mm exposed above the headset.

Cane creek 40 headset included.

I’m not in London so it’ll need to be posted.

Is this QR or thru-axle? I think the former but want to be sure (it looks like new ones have thru)

Super helpful ‘thanks’.

These look the same as the photos on the Elephant site which also says ‘front: Paragon flanged thru axle; rear: Paragon dropouts -- 142 x 12 thru axle.

Yes quick release. I think 100mm front, 135mm rear.

The first batch came with a lugged fork but they had problems with it cracking near the disc brake tab. After that they started making the unicrown fork. Which they say is stronger and also lighter than the previous fork.

I definitely believe that last part. My ‘lightweight’ Cantibolt fork is heavier than my unicrown Muddy Fox fork, which presumably is made from gas pipe steel.

Will just have to figure out if I can make large work.

I have a 50mm stem on my polyvalent with noodles, and thats pulled out quit a bit. So length might be ok.
There is a bit of room with standover.
But realistically I am pretty certain I need size m.
Geometry geeks is so good.
