I may have asked this before, but is there a way to get those HEIF/HEIC "multi-frame" photos off the Pixel 6a? Is this extra info encoded into the jpg and it's just that my PC can't view it or is there some other step I need to think about. I'm still using Picasa as my image library tool - just like it - any Windows viewers that do the same stuff I could try that support HEIC etc?

I have the Pixel 6 Pro now ("excellent" condition refurb for £340 off Back Market) and although it's big, I don't think it's too big. Two phones ago I had a 3XL, which seemed more unwieldy but likely due to the improvements in the swipe gestures. I got ms_com the 6a (new price of £299 was cheaper than decent condition refurb) but I think it would be too small for my liking. And I have dainty hands.

In Photos (on the phone) you can click on the three dots, export then as Gif to get them into gif format which will work with anything.
Not sure about native support though.

Thanks, didn't know I could do that. I've converted some to gif before some other way.
I'd really like to just be able to dump "everything" easily, even if it's not visible on the PC. Just for backup (without sticking it in Google Photos)

Cheers. That's a good frame of reference.
I think I'm going to get my OH the regular 6 then see what it looks like and maybe get the 6a. TBH my Moto G6 is alright. Just a bit sluggish and the camera could be better in poor light, whereas my OH's Pixel 2 is really struggling.

Camera is something else compared with what I had before. And magic eraser gets used more than I thought it would.
Spot the difference.

Off the strength of recommendations on this thread, I've ordered a Pixel 6a, as I managed to get a new one for £258. I'm a little worried about no headphone jack and no expandable memory, likely for no good reason at all, so let's see how it goes!
I should hopefully get around £50 trading in my old Galaxy S8 as well, so cost to change of about £220 once you factor in a case and screen protectors. I'm pretty pleased with that given the cost of a flagship phone these days.

Can I buy any usb c to usb c cable för my pixel 4a? I imagine even if the cable is 100w or whatever the charging block will only be putting out appropriate wattage, etc

I was able to get staff discount on this one. Amazon currently has them in the colour "sage" at a good price - £287, and it looks like every so often they come up on warehouse deals. I often use the Keepa site for price tracking and sending notifications once something like this hits a certain price on Amazon.

Gone for the mobiles.co.uk pixel 6 deal at £300. Very hard to find on their website and it refused to take payment online using two different credit cards, so had to go old school over the phone. Fuck me I forgot how painful that stuff was.

Yes

Any case recommendations other than Spigen?
People seem to have mixed feelings on the Spigen liquid air case

I've got the liquid air case on my pixel.
It's fine as a protective case but much slippier than I hoped. Seems to be the case for lots of the cases though.

Cheers. Gone for it as life's too short to spend it evaluating a £17 case for someone else.

Picked up a Lenovo M10 3rd gen in Argos for £130 to replace an ancient iPad and it's perfectly adequate. Fast, nice screen and bumped up to Android 12 when I set it up.

Can anyone recommend an android app that allows easy access to a batch of pdfs? We are going away for the weekend and have four different pdf tickets that I would like to have easy access to. I thought they could be added to google wallet but they cannot.
-
• #22371
do you need an app? can't you just save them to google drive, put them in an email etc...

android app that allows easy access to a batch of pdfs?
On my device I can open a PDF with Foxit (my go-to PDF app on both mobile and desk top), Kindle or Samsung Notes. Foxit has tabs for recent files, so you can open all your tickets and move easily between them without having to find the files. Kindle seems to open only some PDFs. Samsung Notes is obviously only any use if you happen to have a Samsung device.

Thanks, I'll check Foxit.

do you need an app?
Probably not, but would like something clean I can open and have quick access to.

Put the 4 pdfs in a folder on your home screen? Edit I'm sure there used to be an easier way to do this but if you have a pixel
- add each file to Google drive (3 dots > Share > Drive)
- Open Drive find each file & 3 dots > make available offline
- then 3 dots save to home screen (scroll down to get that option)
- on home screen drag each file on top of each other to add to folder
- add each file to Google drive (3 dots > Share > Drive)
Anyone have a pixel 6a and having problems syncing gallery photos with Google photos.
My sync stalls with 'waiting for WiFi ' even though i am connected to WiFi. Rebooting the phone kicks it back off again.
