It's in your bank, it yours and it's evidenced by probate documents (I assume all taxes have already been paid so no further taxes can be levied) which the tax man can check later.
this is not your parents giving you cash towards the deposit now which is where the extra work comes in.
Just tell the solicitor you have savings of £xxx, the fact it came from inheritance is not relevant to this financial act
I put fifty large ones down on our first flat and I don’t recall any particular checks as to its provenance. I mean I handed over 3months of bank statements and payslips but that unfortunately/obviously(?) didn’t cover all of that amount. 2014
