Yes that's not a bad call actually, could be bent in a vice and isn't too pricey. Thank you!

Get yourself down to a B&Q.
They sell metal strip.
Put a 90deg bend in one end, measure how long you need, cut, assemble, mark only 1 hole position, drill, fit bolt.
Done.
