Don’t call me Shirley

Umm, not sure I'd count it as a ripoff - it's basically a good ole classic steel bicycle just with more clearance.
Crust might've started the whole instagram build trend and styles/smiles instead of miles attitude but it's not something super innovative or unique that would make it a ripoff.
Also Crust is more in the US market and they're a little bit harder to get in Europe so it might be a good strategic step.
I also like the way it looks.

I think it’s wot u sed . No British company is doing a cool traditional bike with rim brakes and clearance.
The Crust appears to be popular, why not get in on that?
The other direction leads to that nasty Pinarello above and I can’t see Brother going there. -

Part of me thinks, who buys this hipster shit...the other part of me thinks, let's buy one.

Exactly that. I wanted a Kepler a long time back but ended up with a genesis CDA. I always keep an eye on what Brother produce, I know it’s bog standard steel with a spot of branding, but I wish them well.

bog standard steel
lol, rep.
What irritates me slightly is - you could pretty easily build something like this mr wooden with some basic knowledge of bikes and a sense of instagram build style.
Getting it off the shelf is is a shortcut and imitation of an interesting build.
But then again people with no knowledge of instagram build style would probably go for a scott scale so I don't really know who's their target.
I know some people who experienced a "sport burnout" and then hopped from performance carbon to bog steel and go riding around in flip flops instead of s-works so maybe the market target is these people.

When did you get a DA crankset? Hovering over the golf club sin bin button!

I had it years back off Ebay…it’s 175 so a bit long and does weird things to my back
So I swapped it out for an ultegra compact ..not as much fun but 170

Anyone actually used a REDSHIFT ShockStop stem?

My mates got one and reckons it’s brilliant, but he makes terrible decisions about bikes. He’s currently waiting for a suspension fork to arrive for his new Open

I mean at least you’ll ride it in places that require a bit of spring. I’m not sure there’s anything in Epping Forest that his 2.25” tyre gravel bike can’t handle that he wouldn’t be better off on his XC bike anyway

I've setup a few of these, gone as far as doing some test rides in the cobbles here.
Does indeed feels more comfortable, and can be adjusted well enough. I'm too much of a roadie to use it -

Yeah, we're down for 7 Serpents and I wanna ride Iberica Traversa at some point too. Going from my hardtail to the gravel bike makes me accutely aware of the lack of front end cush on the rough stuff. Just pondering out loud really. Could stick faster tyres on the 29er but I much prefer drop bars/aerobars to my straight bar setup.
Any one able to tell me the rough value of an Enve Mountain fork 2nd hand, none on ebay to see... I have bought a bike that I will be removing this from to put on a squishy one.
