Looks great - haven't seen one of that vintage looking that clean/unscratched in a long time!

Cheers, it came recently serviced with box and papers and is really clean, not even any scratches on the clasp. Doubtless I will sully it soon

I did find this https://www.thewatchregister.com/ but haven’t stumped up the tenner for a search yet… If there are any other avenues I’d be interested to know. Maybe another twist in the tale yet!

Happs Fri ya
I am going to a wedding in a few weeks and want to dress up the BB58.
I brought a plethora of new straps to trap for this watch. All arriving next week.
Fostner O types, Vanguard rubber and a Rios and Hersh plain black leather.
I’m going to need so help deciding ….Watch this space!

I fancied dressing BB 58 up as well and ordered a full stitch Cognac shell cordovan strap not too dissimilar to the one your wearing. I'm sure they'll all look nice but will any of your new ones look any dressier then what you already have? Especially the Vanguard although i do want one but as a dress down option. The Strap Tailor does a lovely looking Oxblood shell cordovan strap that i might get as well if i want to dress it up even more but need to see how this one looks first when it finally arrives. Two stitch straps lead times are currently double what they say btw

If you take it to Rolex they have details of every original buyer.
My father in Law went in with his fathers Datejust from ‘63 and they gave him a load of information about place and time bought.
Also… I walked past this morning and this guy was going through the fence, haha

Interesting.. Will maybe give it a try when I get the chance. Also a good excuse to roll into a Rolex store for a nose about!
Too late for the keeper of the keys, sadly. Or were we too late? Any sign of a shiny sub on his wrist?

That's a lovely cognac strap!
I am wearing black shoes and belt so the Fostner has to "steel" the show or it will be leather.
I'm trying the vanguard to see how casual it is with formal wear. And to see if it's comfortable.

Mine actually turned up today after me moaning about how long delivery was taking. I'm really happy with it and it's definitely smarter than the vintage black two stitch it replaced. Delivery delays aside i think Two Stitch are difficult to beat for quality for money and their customer service is excellent. I ordered an extra buckle for my other strap and Ivan must have checked my order history and noticed both straps I'd ordered had different tapers which i hadn't noticed myself and he sent me an extra 16mm and 18mm brushed premium buckle free of charge. If your not loving the Vanguard when it arrives I'll probably take that off your hands.
