It occurred to me that I don't think I have ever heard/read the name of a notable person from the Russian airforce. Current guy in charge is supposedly someone called Dronov, can't say I have ever seen him on a group photo or anything like that.

Russian air force used to be split into a couple of different organizations, frontal aviation, strategic, defensive. Maybe to keep it from being too powerful.

Negotiations, Russian style.

Why are you sharing pro-ruzzian twitter toss?
-
• #3712
How is that clip pro Russian?
-
• #3713
It’s by a prominent pro-russian account, sentiment of the tweet is very much disdainful of Ukrainians. Read the replies/author’s other content… or don’t, it’s poison.
-
• #3714
Yeah, I was surprised by the replies as well but then after checking the account I realised it's a pro Russian account.
Still a brilliant idea by the museum nonetheless.

Officers detected more than 1.5 million accounts across various social
media, email and instant messaging services. Which served to advance
Russian propaganda.
[...]
The materials released online contained, among other things, justifications for Russia's occupation of Ukraine. more than 100,000 SIM cards were used to register the said accounts. They were seized by police officers.https://twitter.com/intermarium24/status/1608133663123820545

British lawyers were given government dispensation to bypass sanctions in order to help Yevgeny Prigozhin, the controversial Russian businessman and Wagner group founder, sue a journalist, according to documents made available to the website Open Democracy.

Shocking...

Somewhat similar to the way Russia abuses Interpol to hunt down or intimidate political opposition or journalists living abroad.
Just like Lithuania fucked up and handed over Bialiatski for Belarus in 2011.

Exactly where is the line between supporting a country at war and involving yourself in the war?
I'm asking in relation to Scholz finally approving the donation of tanks. -
• #3721
I don't think it matters for either protagonist or for those donating the tanks. Putin has always claimed that he's fighting against western imperialism anyway. We've learned pretty clearly that holding back on the basis that it might provoke him or give him ammunition for propaganda is worthless since the entire Russian regime is built on lies.
-
• #3722
You are probably right. Also, some 50 tanks probably wont make a huge difference either.
I was just wondering if there was some kind of defined/agreed distinction. -
• #3723
I think Germany just wanted to avoid being the only giver of the leopard tanks. If Germany teams up with the US, poland, spain, etc it will be Nato that might be seen escalating the conflict rather than an individual country.
The tanks seem pretty badass from what I gather, bet they can make quite a dent in the Russian lines.
-
• #3724
It’s not about Germany donating tanks Scholz was stopping others supporting Ukraine.
-
• #3725
Good point.
All I know is from danish public media that says the tanks are very advanced and highly regarden, but also that they'd need like 300 of them to really turn the war.
Russian drama queens- Putin is promoting fear and hatred of “the West”. Telling Russians they are in danger and only he can save them.
