  • I think Germany just wanted to avoid being the only giver of the leopard tanks. If Germany teams up with the US, poland, spain, etc it will be Nato that might be seen escalating the conflict rather than an individual country.

    The tanks seem pretty badass from what I gather, bet they can make quite a dent in the Russian lines.

    All I know is from danish public media that says the tanks are very advanced and highly regarden, but also that they'd need like 300 of them to really turn the war.

  • It may not be 300 tanks as requested, but 50 Leopards as well as 15 Challengers is a pretty massive power injection considering each modern western tank is worth several of Russia's old rubbish in battle.

    They are also getting 50 Bradley fighting vehicles from the US which are just as good at killing old Russian tanks, as discovered during the Iraq war. It's in essence 130+ tanks in practice.
