Thank you, I had wondered if that might be the issue - the idea would be a replacement hubset for these: https://tinyurl.com/Hunt-50mm-Wide-Aero; I had initially been planning / hoping on getting a nice CK set, or maybe DT Swiss etc., but rapidly drew a blank. Would any of these Bitex actually be an upgrade (/ quieter) than what the Hunts already have (which I assume may actually Bitex?!)?

quieter
Most boutique hubs seem to make it a point of pride to have loud ratchets. There was somebody making a $500 version of the $20 1990s Shimano Silent Clutch hub😶

A noisy freehub is a good freehub. The noise is a direct correlation to the pawl springs... typically, quiet hubs have cheap and nasty springs that don't last. All the expensive quality stuff tend to be noisy (Calvin Klein, Hope, DT Swiss etc... )

What sound do your fancy pants make?

Novatec QR for rear thru axles. Who is likely to have them ? I think I tried a couple of months ago. It's either that or a new rear wheel for a bullitt (suggestions appreciated here too).

As in you're in need of different end caps? SJSC have seemed to have the widest range whenever I've needed some.

Thanks both

Bitex are excellent value for money…

Same as Chris King

Apparently no stock of what I need.
New wheel then

Let me know which ones you need and I'll have a look through my stocks. I definitely have some Novatec hub QR end caps I can't ever see myself using again.

I’ll take some pictures
Thanks!

Here we go.
So the qr lever doesn’t lock into closed and stay locked.

Is the cup the lever sits on fucked or on backwards or both?

• #11368
yeah looks like its missing the cam thing!

Fucked

I don’t even know anymore.

I think it's on backwards and a bit fucked, but pull the skewer out, the bit the lever sits on should have a concave bit, it's a bit hard to tell what's going on with those dropouts but maybe you've got the bit between the lever and the dropouts on the wrong way.
-
• #11372
I’d like to say I didn’t do that.
-
• #11373
At least it's on the same side of the bike as the lever, I've seen worse.
-
• #11374
Right there’s no cup. That end is serrated to grip the dropout.

is it one of the ones that you can pull the lever out a bit to rotate it without tightening the skewer, so you can make sure the folded lever is always in the optimum position?
What size wheels? Probably finding it difficult because 20h is generally considered too low a spoke count for disc brakes
