  • After updating to IOS 16.2 on my iPhone 11 and viewing this forum via safari browser it has annoyingly defaulted to a curser prompt in the page number box. It does this whenever I load a new page.
There also appears to be a new bunch of settings for safari called ‘experimental WebKit features’ with a million options but I don’t speak computer. Can an educated person tell me how to fix please?

  • Super annoying isn’t it?

  • Can an educated person tell me how to fix please?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

  • There is very little explanation of what the experimental features do. The best I’ve found is this website, but it’s for iOS12. There seems to be little explanation of why certain features are enabled or not.

Turn off and on again is always the best first try. Otherwise the only suggestion I’ve got is try changing one at a time and see if you notice any difference. It might not be anything to do with these features though.

  • You too? It’s driving me mad.

I have tried the offy onny trick to no avail. @Regal came across this article which seems to pinpoint the issue but no solution offered. Sit tight for an update I guess…

  • It’s very annoying for sure :(

  • It's fine in Chrome 😉

  • The SO thread does explain how it could be fixed by adjusting the webpage code but that would be up to the boss.

Doesn’t (currently) do it on my phone with the same OS, though, which is weird.

  • Let me know when you figure it out

  • He is waiting for Apple to fix it, sees it as their problem.

  • Does anyone happen to have an iPad Pro 12.9" they're looking to shift?

  • yeah the focusing on the page numbers happens for me too for months now

  • My new job has given me a Mac laptop. My first ever one. I need a compatible wireless mouse. What should I buy....?

  • Mx master. The additional buttons can be mapped to expose / desktop switch etc which make navigating through windows and apps a breeze.

  • Another vote for MX Master 3.

  • Cool, thanks new Mac friends

  • Yea to MX master. It’s great.

  • Haven’t tried the MX but I really rate apples Magic Mouse. People seem to have a love / hate relationship with it though

  • The ergonomics can create issues in the forearm and wrist if you do a lot of screen switching. The track pad is a decent alternative.

  • another MX master happy user

  • +1 for MX Master 3. I use it with SmoothScroll, to make scrolling smooth like with an Apple mouse, and reverse the scrolling direction for the mouse only (I prefer opposite directions for trackpad and mouse).

  • Screen switching? As in swiping left / right with a few fingers?

I've had RSI issues before but that was with the Mighty Mouse. Picked up a wacom that I use for about 20% of the time which made a huge difference. Tbh I find the Magic Mouse to be really good ergonomically as the grip keeps changing. Haven't tried anything else for years though so maybe I'm missing out on the MX.

  • If I want a monitor that has a great built in camera but don't want the Apple ones what are my options? Or is built in cameras just very bad idea?

Basically fed up of my mbp camera and not having the 2023 glow up I deserve.

  • I'd file built in cameras alongside built in speakers, and get it separate

  • :'( they just look so ugly
