Someone just gave away an SBDU frame for 10% of it's value !
-
• #5
I’d have done the same. Rather see it used and appreciated than wasting away.

I know it's worth a lot but there is some work to do on the frame hence why I am selling it at that price :)

Mudguard eyes on a racing frame usually in 531c / 753R?
Cant see the other pics though which should have the SBDU frame number

Looks like SB and the size 59. High number so Nottingham and not Ilkeston.

Saw a 753 SBDU touring frame once.
Never say never. -

Hello guys, it was an SBDU I am pretty sure. The Serial number definitely start with SB. The frame has been sold so I hope the new owner will give the frame the love it deserves!

SB6943 would make it a 1984 Ilkeston according to Neil McLean.
I have SB8117 which would be a 1986 Ilkeston and it also has original mudguard eyelets. It is a road race frame.

This is a good source for SBDU including when Ilkeston closed
Hello everyone,
I am selling this beautiful Raleigh frame. It is built with full Reynolds 531. Size is 57.5cm
It has been sitting in my flat for almost a year now and haven't found the time and energy to do anything with it.
It is in a rough state and would probably love a paintjob.
There is a dent on the top tube and it is pretty rusty.
The fork is not original and was taken from another bike, but it suits the era and style.
Comes with the needle bearing headset although I am not sure it is fully complete, plus campagnolo seatpin.
Selling it for £50
Collection only from Newington Green East London.
