My Keychron K2 has died - won't charge / won't switch on.
What's the best alternative?
Needs to be:- ISO UK
- Mac / CMD etc
- Ideally TKL
- Ideally wireless
Is it still just Keychron? I don't mind the look of the Logitech mx mini but they're ABS caps and no PBT alternatives available.
- ISO UK

Keychron K2
I have one spare in the loft

Interesting. It seems to have come back to life after a day on charge but it’s still acting strangely.
Let’s see how it goes this week but will PM you if I can’t keep it working.

I have a Varmilo VA88 Mac I would like to sell if that's of interest?

Cheers. They're quite pricy, maybe I'll hold until I wear through the current ones.
... Or maybe check ebay

There’s some more reasonable sets on candykeys. Take a look at the in stock section.

What are the options for a full sized / 96%?
I have a Keychron K4 at work, and "need" another for home.
Numpad is essential as I work with numbers mostly.Anything to consider other than another K4?

I have a K4 at work and a Filco Majestouch 2 (full size) at home - the Filco feels way better quality.
I wanted to try a Leopold FC980 which looks like it would fit the bill but have never managed to find one in stock when I've had the cash available. -

New job, they are making me have a Mac laptop, which is bad, but I get money to buy accessories, which is good.
I want to get a 75% keyboard, wired I guess, so needs a USB-C, but do I need an apple specific one?

I have a keychron and there is a switch on the side for Windows or Mac settings.
-
• #666
Yes, sadly as some of the function/command keys (shift/control/windows/Apple key etc) are in slightly different places.
I know it’s smaller but I’ve liked the flexibility of the keychron K2 which has both key caps and little switch on the side to choose if you want iOS or windows set up without having to mess around with software. Using both windows and Mac laptops it’s pretty handy! Wireless to, if that’s your thing but wired is standard usb a so might not work perfectly (unless you charge it when you don’t need to use it)

I'm liking the look of the K6.

I have a varmillo va88 mac that I don't use if that's any use?
-

Thanks, that's generous. I took a look at that but I think I want something smaller.

Is this the USB-C version. Slightly unclear on the description.
-
• #671
No, they did have the usb c version for £30 more. Didn’t bother me. I’ve lubed the sliders ready for OU.

The K6 is a 65% (no F keys). I have a keyboard based on a Tofu65 case and I love that size. I think the K6 is a good choice and should work with OSX out of the box and I think they even provide the keycaps to switch.
If you buy something else you can look out for *QMK firmware, VIA support*
I can remap my keyboard completely in the browser to switch layouts or add custom shortcuts etc.

Question those those on here might know the answer to. Is there a go-to place in the U.K. to by new key caps? Cherry MX profile switches and I don’t need full sets, just looking to jazz up space bar, return, escape etc with something other than Keychron Grey…
Etsy seems to have some options, but never know what the quality is like!

Oh thanks, missed that link! Did you purchase any in the end? How was it if so?
When I bought my Keychron K4 it came with brown keys, so I picked up a load of blue switches.
Popped one in my return key and another in my space bar.
Holly mother of God! The noise from the space bar! Idk how anyone lives with this.
