Welcome to Cornwall. It is very hilly, but most climbs are relatively short, so once you get to a certain level of fitness, you get used to it. Wrong end of Cornwall for you, but I like to head down to Land's End for longer rides. Bissoe Trail is quite family friendly and runs north to south coast with cafe's etc.
