Does it need to have track specific dropouts? I have a shelf of beater steel frames

Without wishing to hijack, I’d like to have a look at what’s on your shelf. I’m after something in the same size range with mudguard eyelets but not at all fussy otherwise.

Ahhh not a lot? But then entirely depends on what it is. If you had some battered Gazelle track frame or cool old English frame then the budget would probably go up.
But I should remember this is bike to lockup, get rained on, and probably get stolen at some point haha

Got a 54 (maybe 55) basso columbus frame and forks here. My lbs just confirmed it needs to be built up with a threadless bb as it's previously had a mavic item fitted which meant the threads had to be honed for this.
Anyway, it's a lovely looking frame and I don't have the time to build it up. Shout if you want more info!
if one was in the market for a vintage ratty fixie frame to use as a lockup bike, what would any of you be able to find in the shed?
Looking for genuinely old bikes not retro copies.
Paint can be pretty well f-ed as long as it’s mechanically and structurally sound.
Front brake hole in the fork would be preferred but not essential.
