we're pretty sure he's sleeping in the van, see him sneaking in and out, and have seen bits of loo roll with shit on them outside the door.
As there's very little space in the street, it could be something for the Bastard Neighbours thread, but he clearly seems to have tissues.

Im aware the force is on its arse.
Its no secret. Theres many reasons for that.I wouldnt wish being a copper on anyone, I thought Id posted about this before but it was on facebook.
Its underpaid, dangerous, full of miscreants and scandals.
There isnt enough of them to drink tea. -

That's in line with what I've heard. Along with 30% of new recruits dropping out in the first year when they realise that's what the job is about.

Along with 30% of new recruits dropping out in the first year when they realise the culture in the police force is horrific
Amirongtho?
A friend of ours was thinking of a career change away from teaching passed the CID exams and what not and got offered a job but just didn’t like the people he met along the way.

I hear you. I've had all sorts of bikes and motorbikes nicked in the last 25 years. One time they spotted a stolen moped of mine and chased the rider on foot when he abandoned it.
I went as a witness to the court appointment and the hearing was cancelled because the kids mum hadn't organised legal representation and appeared with a baby in her arms!
It's such a depressing aspect of London life I won't have a nice motorbike or scooter anymore and the only pushbikes I ride are Bromptons.

It's not great from what I've heard.

Glad to have them when you need them (and can get one) I suppose, but yeah... we're a long way from having a police force we can be proud of.
Could be a lot worse. The problem is, the police are getting worse.

Although the idea that they are sat in the police station sipping tea because chasing petty thieves is not worth their time is a common misconception.
True. Raping and abusing women is busy work (pun intended).
I can never forget that one Met commissioner said that his goal was to arrest more criminals than he employed.

You forgot murdering. Very time consuming.

Study shows that LTNs probably work as intended. Somebody had better tell some of my more militant neighbours who presumably are considering self immolation to remove the LTNs in our neighbourhood.

Jacinda Ardern resigns as prime minister of New Zealand
This is awful. She was/is such a good leader. She only highlights how corrupt and self serving our own politicians are.

Best send Richard E Grant out to find him and bring him back

"Eclectic, decades-long career". Eclectic is putting it mildly. For much of it, his name on the billing was a pretty reliable sign saying "This is going to be a bit crap, but he'll chew the carpet entertainingly."
Best send Richard E Grant out to find him and bring him back

Having only seen him in A Room with a View, I’d say if Sands is lost in a densely-wooded area, it will be almost impossible to find him : /

Richard Watkinson. Fucking hell, how was he free and not in custody?! 😑

One of my neighbours picked a random local councillor to be Responsible For Those Bloody Cycle Lanes and posted on NextDoor that he hopes said councillor dies in a house fire 🙃
He'll be delighted by this news, I am sure

Because he hadn’t been charged with anything and therefore couldn’t be remanded, would be my guess.

Still odd.
Released pending investigation, all access to re-offend or run away.
Ive seen 24 hours on C4, they can get extensionsFact that he's dead proves how inept the farce are dealing with their own.

There is a premise in law which states you are innocent until proven guilty. With internet offences, there will be a wait until enquires are complete. Indecent images require assessment and are graded. This all takes time - a lot of time.
From what I read, the officer was due to attend to be charged - I would surmise that the relevant enquiries have been done and there were offences detected
The extensions you have seen on TV are limited and would not allow for the relevant enquiries to be completed.
The officer knew his time had come with the impending charges - once charged access to passport and internet etc could be restricted as part of bail conditions. L
Unfortunately that’s the way the law works - it has to be fair and comply with human rights standards. -

These can take months and that’s just to get the results let alone grade it. If the evidence came from abroad add on a bit more delay. The computer may have to be attributed to the suspect and they will have multiple devices. CPS will most likely want a full case file before making a decision to charge. All this draws matters out.
Ive seen 24 hours on C4, they can get extensions. He may have been on condional police bail restricting his activities.
That’s a short extension on custody time limits, not this situation.
Fact that he's dead proves how inept the farce are dealing with their own.
Not sure I can see any logic in that, but csea offenders kill themselves often, it’s a known risk of working in that area. Quite often officers have to do a suicide risk interview with them, on tape, after the PACE interview and direct them to suitable resources

These can take months
I was the IT Manager at an NHS trust that had a child porn incident back in 2010. It was 9 months before the digital evidence had been through that process. Can't imagine that the police are better equipped now.
