  • In order of budget but necessarily looks - Tange Seiki Technoglide, Velo orange grand cru, Hope. Silver but maybe not swish enough.

  • silver headsets

What type? In EC34 AHead there's Ritchey Classic, IRD Techno-Glide, M:Part Elite & Hope and that's just from SJSC

ETA: Or White Industries for approaching CK money, or KCNC PT1767D for a more or less CK aesthetic at a fifth of the price

  • Soory mine is a specific issue of converting a GDR track frame to western standards fork.

  • That way... Good luck!

  • Double post

  • Not swish 110 but I can source silver 40s. Drop me a PM.

  • and tester: thanks.

    "...and that's just from SJSC"

    Point taken.

In mitigation I'd got in a bit of a tizzy, grappling with chainline and gearing while choosing cranks and also a bit hacked off, having realised how much I've forgotten, in a relatively short time.

Anyway, I'll take Beagle up on their offer: after all, a 40 is all the headset anyone needs (that much I do remember).

  • Serotta Colorado

This is beautiful. A bike like this could convince me to start road riding again.

  • New bike through Green Cycle Initiative, replacing my Lynskey Helix Disc Pro. I've always liked Condor bikes, and found that the Baracchi had the geo I was after - taller stack height, slightly shorter reach, and more relaxed handling.

I've got no immediate plans for upgrades etc. at the moment. Currently 7.6kg with plenty of room for weight-weeniesm down the line.

    Some long term changes:

    1. Remove a link (or two) from the chain. I think I measured poorly during the initial install and now the chain slaps the chainstay during fast/bumpy descents
    2. Slam the stem, install an Extralite expander and integrated headset topcap
    3. S-works turbo cotton tyres for summer
    4. Power meter pedals

Getting it built was a complete ball-ache and has put me off building bikes myself, I'm just pleased it's working as intended at this point. I can recommend Jacob at Via Atelier in Kings Cross. I gave up trying to set up internal routed Campagnolo gears and took it to Jacob, who sorted it completely.

  • That's really good.

  • Ooooof! Great looking bike.

  • New project. I have some 3t carbon bars and a stem, shimano r600 levers. I’ll throw an SMP on but need to get a new seatpost.

Cat for size. Aero pose and casual.

  • Cool photo, the cat makes a great figurehead. Is that some kind of Galgo/Whippet-Malinois mix?

  • She’s just a lurcher, I have a pair and a stupid bull breed.

  • I’m a pushover. She’s beautiful, guess she is getting on a little?

  • She’s almost 13, she tells us that in her prime!

  • I’m planning on putting together a CAAD. I’ve got a hydraulic R8000 group and a CAAD13 frame on its way. I’ve read lots about the 13 and there are mixed views on performance and aesthetic. I am willing to take the punt on performance (I’ve only got time for a couple of rides a week) but I definitely don’t like the new paint job. It’s pretty boring. So my idea is to give a classic look to the modern frame.

I’ve always loved the look of the caad7 optimo saeco, so I’m think ‘apple candy’ frame with original white decals (black keyline, no saeco references) and black forks. This would look good with R8000. Or would it?

Not wanting to make a decision based on consensus, but is this a naff idea?
