  • I bought a Samsung 4-door (French style) fridge freezer nearly two years ago and recently it started sounding like an angry sewing machine. I messaged Samsung online help, they got a local person to come check it, and diagnosed as a faulty compressor, luckily it's under warranty.

Samsung messaged me a few days later to say they can't repair it, and no like-for-like replacement was available so they offered the closest alternative. The one we're getting as a replacement costs twice as much as the one we bought, I'd say that's pretty good customer service! Would recommend.

I was just looking at these.

On paper, they have all the capacity - how does that translate in the real world? Is it all usable, or is it just a lot of useless space inside?

I'm also looking at the american door versions.

  • The one we had that broke was this model. It had plenty of room, the freezer section was smaller than the fridge but you can have the two bottom sections as freezers if you want. The option to choose the "third" bit as a fridge or freezer is good if your needs change.

The version Samsung has given as a warranty replacement is this one MASSIVE overkill, I'd never pay that for a fridge.

It's got quite a lot of storage, here's a photo I took last night after it was delivered:
