Skullcandy Crusher Evo: talk me in or out of them. I listen to a lot of electronic music and I like a lot of bass. I was put off the originals because of lack of twist in the cups but these seem to have fixed that problem. I'm not bothered about the vibraty-rattly slider switch thing, which is probably a gimmick. I'll be running in them. Open-back is not an option because I'll also want to use them on the train occasionally.
Dankpods rates them but I can't decide if I trust the opinion of an established (albeit niche) Youtuber over randoms on a forum.

Circling back on this, I bought these for Mrs EB and she really likes them!

You might be surprised at how good wireless headphones have gotten. My desktop setup is a Drop THX AAA amp + Topping E30 DAC + Focal Elex's, yet I still rate my Airpod Pro's highly and consider them to be the best product Apple have made in years. They sound just great. If I were in your shoes and wanted wireless somethings, I'd probably get Sony 1000Xm5s or 4s if you can find them cheap.

Right on, mine are holding up well and retain a charge for a very long time.

Perfect timing as I've just managed to lose my Apple ones so have ordered. Cheers.

Thanks, that seems to be my impression now after reading a bit more. I'm also looking at the sennheiser momentum 3 and the jabra elite 7 pro. Basically looking for something with the best quality for music. Prefer a more neutral, clear, transparent sound - not a fan of overly bassy or warm headphones Not too bothered about noise cancelling. Ime getting the right fit is more important.

Reasonably priced bluetooth earbuds? Picked up a set of Belkin ones from Argos for £25 but they're basically useless for calls according to everyone I've tried to call!

Has anyone any experience of Technics EAH-A800E headphones? I have seen some for £199 (which seems like a good deal) and am quite tempted but would be interested to hear from anyone who has actually used them.

I think that's pretty much every bluetooth set of headphones. Dankpods does mic comparisons and bluetooth ones always end up sounding shit in comparison to cheap wired headphones.
If you don't need noise cancelling, the Sony WF-C500 are nice for £55. With the caveat that the mic won't be as good as wired headphones.

I would recommend Shokz Openrun, not tried the Pros. Don't expect the sound to be as good as headphones but they're still very good, especially if using for spoken word. Very light, so you can almost forget they're on.

Where do people go to get relatively impartial reviews on headphones etc? Looking to buy a pair of noise cancelling wireless over ear headphones, around the £300 mark. No idea where to even start (Shure seems to be a good shout?)

Aye I’ve come to learn that earbuds are likely to just be shit for calls. I’ve got a set of sound magic ones that have the neckband but they’re shite - have to “forget” the device and repair with my iPhone every time.
Annoyingly the Belkin pair I bought went from £25 to £50, so I probably should have tried a second pair rather than just getting a refund.
Ive seen that newer ones also have the option of adjusting noise cancelling settings in an app too which would be handy as noise cancelling actually makes them impractical for work a lot of the time.

First impressions of the Airpods Pro 2; not loving the manual controls. Especially the volume control is fiddly and capricious.

‘Hey Siri - increase volume by ten percent’. Easy.

I bought some Sony XM5s on Friday. Was really disappointed in the SQ. Returned them and bought Senn Momentum 4s instead. The noise cancelling on the Sony’s is on another level. Truly. But holy smokes, the Senn’s sound so much better. I like them even more than my Focal desktop setup. Which may now be going bye bye. Along with all of the wires that come with using a DAC, amp, and a huge set of headphones… better still they were only $277 and the Sony’s were $399….
Strongly recommended if you’re in the market for noise cancelling headphones but don’t need the crème de la crème of noise cancelling.

The momentums are really very good

Just got some Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro's, seem pretty good for £50 but don't have other wireless buds to compare them to, they are definitely bulky in the ear though

I’ve been using them for at least a couple of hours a day this week and did a six hour flight on Sunday too. Still have 55% battery left. Battery life is mad.

Wow, I didn’t realise the 4s had that much battery life. I have the 3s and the sound quality is excellent - I don’t travel with them so much as they’re bulky and the noise cancellation isn’t as good as using my Shure in-ears with noise cancellation (which is pretty tough for any over-ear headphone to match), but at home or in the office they’re like floating away in a little bubble of distraction-less bliss.
-

Yeah, 60 quoted hours. Which I didn’t think I’d appreciate as much as I do. The noise cancellation is probably on par with my AirPod pro’s - just because they’re not in my ear canals, but they sound much better and still block out an adequate amount of noise in flight.

That’s pretty impressive! I’ve mainly stuck with the shures for the tube, they’re the only things I’ve been able to find able to make the central/Piccadilly line shriek tolerable…

Has anyone got any recent ears-on experience of Shure SE425 vs SE 535 in ears? The 215’s seem pretty popular as an all rounder but wanting a little extra oomph which led me to the 535s. Having used Shure stuff in professional studios for a decade or so I like their stuff but never had to buy my own.
Mainly to use at home to replace some aging by lovely sounding AKG over-ears who’s rubber is now perishing for when I can’t put the hifi on and a bit on the go (trains/flights). Alternative could be the Airpod pros but never really got on with silicon tips and much prefer foam ones so not sure how they’d stack up
I doubt anyone here is interested but just in case...
I bought these cheap faux airpods when I forgot my headphones when we were all in one hotel room.
Wireless Earbuds, Bluetooth 5.3 Headphones HI-FI Stereo, Wireless Earphones 35H Playtime Type-C Fast Charging, In Ear Headphones with CVC 8.0 Noise Reduction, IP7 Waterproof, Touch Control, Tiny Size https://amzn.eu/d/ciWKGPN
They were next day and pretty much the cheapest option.
9m on and I've got to say I'm pretty impressed. They're not audiophile by any means but they work fine. I mainly used to use them for work as they're light enough to leave in and the mic works well.
