  • Slow Horses 2 is ok more madcap antics
Read the books though..they are funnier.
Shirley Dander is a little too refined but it’s still fun

  • Initial reviews for The Last of Us appear to be very glowing...

  • Nicola Coughlan Could have been a great dander.

Gary oldman is perfect for lamb.

  • Watched the first few episodes of Our Flag Means Death last night. Bit of a strange one - clearly got a huge budget and amazing cast (Rhys Darby, Ewen Bremner, Taika Waititi, Joel Fry, Fred Armisen, Kristen Schaal etc) but doesn't really seem to do much with them or to go anywhere.

Feels like it's decided to be amiable, rather than funny - like the Good Place. Pleasant enough, but I watch telly so rarely, I'd prefer something with a few bigger laughs.

  • The Good Place was a slow build show, but it did the funniest treatment of the trolley car problem I've seen anywhere.

  • huge budget and amazing cast

It remains disappointing throughout. It's a rare mistep for Taika in my opinion. Could have been sooooo good.

  • I didn't mind it, the small set designs reminded of of stuff like the mighty boosh, although it was much less surreal and not as funny.

  • I really liked season 1 of Yellow jackets. Trailer for S2 looks promising. I recall hearing somewhere that the creators had mapped out the whole storyline for all seasons so hopefully should avoid disappointment in that area (I'm looking at you Westworld)

  • I liked S1, but obviously unfulfilling ending. Hope it's not too 'Lost'.

  • Watched the first episode. So far so good, but I still remember everything that happens in the game, which lessens the impact. Some good stuff that isn’t in the game, tho.

Been watching The Rig for no real reason. It’s bang average but has just about enough going for it to make me want to find out what happens. It’s very reminiscent of Carpenter’s The Thing and early episodes of X-Files, although nowhere near as cool as either, obviously, what could be. The theme music and soundtrack is especially unremarkable. Not sure why that’s bothered me so much, but how hard is it to get some theme music you’d actually want to hear.

Also been watching The Expanse, which feels very similar in terms of production values, but much better writing and acting. I’ve been reading the books (which are excellent), so was fully prepared to hate it, but I’m getting pretty into it.

  • Just googled as I couldn't remember where I heard it was definitely not going to do this. Apparently conceived and pitched as a 5 season show.

good series and didn't go on too long

  • The trailer had me hooked, I downloaded it as soon as it was available, and then never got round to watching it. I guess this is why, if it had been amazing, more people would have been raving about it I think.

  • The Expanse

Fucking brilliant show, felt a bit empty when it finished.

  • iPlayer suggested I try Search Party, which I'd never heard of despite it being 6 years old and with 5 series. It's really silly but really funny. Give it a try.

Alia Shawkat (Maeby from Arrested Development) is the main character.

  • I watched season 1 of this a while ago and enjoyed. Are the other seasons any kop?

  • Oldman is doing a good Lamb
I imagined him as looking like John Sargeant though

  • I don’t think sergeant is dirty enough.

  • it changes massively as it goes along and gets much weirder as it does. the characters change as people a lot throughout it particularly the lead Dory. one of her latter situations she ends up in I think she acts her socks off but it does get a bit stupid by the end though.

  • 3 episodes into the US Traitors.

After enjoying the UK one (apart from Will getting stitched by that 'property development' numpty) I'm surprised how good it is so far.

Throwing 'reality show celebrities' into the mix has ensured a good mix of stupid and dislikeable people from the off to contrast the non-celebs. I'm enjoying it so far

  • That theme song is grand too.
Looking forward to the Last of Us.
@goodhead the remaining seasons have stellar reviews, so here's to hoping.

  • Interesting contrast. The British reserve works better so far, but will still be fun to see how it turns out.

Enjoyed first Last of Us (never having played the game). Good set-up so far.

@goodhead - not a 5 season show, much as I liked the actors. That's prob put me off.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed that first episode of TLOU, although having never played it and knowing only a bit of the premise it's kind of nice going in completely blind

  • make me want to find out what happens.

    Prepare to be disappointed
