Lumpy zipp matches the lumpy tt.

I can only thank the combined efforts of the LFGSS style council for showing me the light with blacked out cockpit possibilities. Having measured the geometry up I have taken 1cm off the stem and replaced it with a Time model in black. I do like the Zipp but need to wait until one pops up second hand as over £200 for a stem is a bit rich for me...
This has bought the bar stack and reach pretty close to what my other bikes run, but evidently the Time bars have much more reach as the hoods are still 2cm further away than I'd like. Looks like I'll need to change those too then, which is a pain with recabling but never mind.
Progress so far:

when you're mingling other bars in, you can change the tape to black, too: )

Agree with the others, slim black stem, black compact bars and black tape would be best

I like the stem, so just some compact bars and black tape and it's done:)

+1 for OG stem, compact bars and black tape. I’m biased tho:

Lovely bike <3

Very tempting, particularly as I managed to bid snipe some SL70 compact bars for a bit of a steal this afternoon. I’ll see how they look with the Time stem first of all

That is gorgeous, the red spoke nipples are an excellent touch

Got some spare Time to watch a little clip?

That is very cool! I'd only recently realised the company was still going, thought it had died after the Rossignol takeover. Glad to see that's not the case.

The front end has had a rethink to get the geometry right for me, and thankfully eBay was pretty kind with what was available. I'm happy with this now and am keeping the red hoods/cables. Getting the front end all Zipp keeps things nice and clean components wise too.
Now just to wait until the roads are not soaked or covered in grit so I can actually ride the thing in anger...

Very nice. Our tastes are very similar, so we may end up looking like team bikes. What size sapcer do you need under the stem? Or are you going to move it lower?

There's currently two 2cm spacers under there (Time branded and came with the frameset), the clamping area of the Zipp stem is shorter than the OG one so I had to pop another 0.5cm under there so there wasn't a bit of steerer tube poking out of the top. Now everything is OK reach wise it does actually feel a bit 'sit up and beg' and from a quick mile round the local roads I might be able to go lower in the drops so I will experiment with maybe just leaving 20-25mm under and cut the steerer to match if the geometry works on a longer ride.

If you need/want a 5mm time branded spacer, I'll probably have one going in the next month when I've sorted out the front end.

Thanks, I really appreciate that! More than happy to cover the postage for it if you find it surplus to requirements. Got to keep everything matching...

Nice build, personally I would have gone with a Time Stem or a white stem. But that’s my preference.
Kudos though, amazing build so far!
I couldn't help myself and paid a graphic designer to make a professional artist's impression of cockpit possibilities.
