I've got a Shimano ten speed Zee shifter and rear short cage mech - Looking to get a long cage but hoping to not have to buy a new shifter - Is this an option or do I need to swap the whole set?

Any lomg cage Dynasys mech should work with that shifter

Cage length doesn't matter in terms of matching shifters to mechs.

Would a bench vice and two sturdy pieces of wood or metal work too?

Shifters 105 R7000 rim brake, could they work with mechanical disc brake TRP Spyre?? Thanks.

My girlfriend has 6700 shifters running spyres so no reason not.

If you're just plumbing that hose/barb/olive into another lever or caliper, go for it.

Warranty replacement of a GRX shifter....now I can't remember if there was an olive already in the assembly the first time I fitted it a year ago.

Oh I know he's right, hasn't been wrong yet...for any of my inane questions.

Is there a cheap/go-to canti brakeset? Not really had much experience with cantis, and although I know they're not renowned for performance, thought I'd try and give myself the best chance. Extra points if they're silver.

Best way to remove a soft bolt fitted with over zealous usage of loctite?

Impact driver or propane torch ? I don't have either so would prefer to buy one or the other.

I have generally had v good success with a hand impact wrench and torx bit hammered in..
I’d buy something like this cos it’s only £10

And the propane torch.

Also cutting a slot and trying to tap it anti clockwise with a punch or whatever has worked for me in the past too
