I think some of the Japanese ones have a square end on them?
I’ve never got on with them though - i’d choose my round ended one given the choice, seem to work well for me (i’ve had the same Stanley set for years, the fattest one only ever gets used on cut nails) -
A screwdriver filed down a little may do the job.

I did this to hundreds of sock-shredding brads in prep for floor sanding; just used a normal round-headed punch, worked fine.

Is there a punch that is rectangular not round to set brad steel nails below floorboard level?
everything seems to round/centre punch but you would think that all those rectangular nail heads in last century floorboards would have meant a tool for that job was available?
