Thought about that, but inevitability stuff will get in and then it’d be even harder to clear out I’d have thought?

Last time we had our roof redone we had leafguards put in, basically the same idea promoted by @Nef, it’s worked like a charm so far (2 years in).
Choosing the right mesh size would be key. -
What about these? Prod them in and pull out if you need to clean the gutter. Would be quicker I imagine and wouldn’t get bunged up half as quickly, if at all.

Put some sort of mesh over the gap it to stop debris getting in but allowing water to flow into the gutter?
