Space in the Y is taller, squarer and has a massive under floor bin (enough for a solid carryon suitcase) and a larger frunk.
Interior passenger space is also larger in the front and back.
Having been a passenger in an i5 a couple of times I thought the interior passenger space was huge! Low speed ride is awful though, which begs the question of just how bad the Y is.
