• I've been really impressed with Rationel in terms of price, options, thermal efficiency.
    There was a Grand Designs episode in Dulwich this most recent season and the woman found a very reasonable supplier in Romania(?) and went direct to them with her Architect/builder. So it could be worth looking at. Also there is several good reddit threads on this type of thing which I found really useful for looking at peoples experience post install. We're going for a bit of a fancy option on our doors with Maxlight but the most important point here seemed to be reliability - I read too many cases of bi-folds breaking and being a pita to resolve. That just put me off.

    Slide and pivot doors also an option. The slimness of sliding doors with the ability to fully open like bi-folds. Each pane slides independently to the opening point and then pivots open so a different technique but removes the clunkiness of bi-folds.
