In Germany taxes are higher, so the drive earns more but some of that will go to taxes and single-payer health insurance. Austria you also need to pay your own insurance. Though 25 euros is good I think.

Was about to mention this - I think the usual UK courier model is self-employment, which would make the comparison with DE even worse if you were taking fuel & lease costs out of already lower wages.
