  • Having repaired quite a few bikes with the kits bolted on, it's disc brake or nought.

Based on the above, I'll digress, it does go pretty fast.

Well beyond the capabilities of any V-brakes let alone calipers, if the brakes need to be be applied hard.

Oh yeah, with the added torque, the rim will wear prematurely, hence a rebuild will be required way earlier.

That said, I'm in the process of converting a couple of Pashley posties to e-bikes and I'm going disc forks front for now to get them on the road.

Would very likely get the same for the rear depending on how the tests go.

  • Is swytch not gentle? Plan on fitting to my pompino or kaffenback neither of which have disc brakes. Colleague has kit on brompton no discs, says it is ace.

  • Even worse on a Brompton in terms of rim wear.

Yeah it's a decent piece of kit but I wouldn't bolt any e-kit to a bike without uprating the brakes if that makes any sense?

    That's my personal opinion.

Coincidentally, customer came in today asking us to fit a kit to a Pashley, not even kidding. Flat no.
