My local unreconstructed greasy spoon is closed for filming about once a month. Which invariably coincides with the exact day I need a walk and a sturdy breakfast.

International news crews must be flocking to this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-64172621 ?

I am fed up with seeing that sodding fox!

People thinking the hazard lights are actually park anywhere lights
-
• #21356
They're especially effective on the zigzags outside schools because "I've just got to drop my child off"

Fecking garage. Took the car in for a service and MOT, got it back without the front left indicator working. It’s less roadworthy then when it went in FFS.

Even better, hazards mean you can just do whatever the fuck you like

The Blackwall Tunnel (again).

What's going on? Noticed it was closed last night...

Don't know. Drove up to the frozen north last night. Sat in traffic for an hour near the Meantime brewery, then turned around and went for the Rotherhithe tunnel (which I really should have done in the first place).

Turns out it flooded in the rain

Few years back I found myself in the Rotherhithe tunnel on my bike. No turning back had to pedal through full pelt heavy breathing filling my lungs with exhaust fumes. Very unpleasant memory
-
• #21365
I used to ride through the rotherhithe tunnel occasionally. Usually late, feeling like I was in some MASH fixie skidder movie

• #21366
Hope you were stroking buses

I had an air BnB just the other side of that tunnel for a London Open, rode through it pissed every night and hungover every morning for four or five days, the lungs full of exhaust were not good for either direction.

Probably seemed like fresh air compared to what you were up to the night before

Private parking companies.
Received a £100 fine for parking in a carpark where I had written permission from the landowner to do so. Appealed the decision providing a copy of the written permission. Appeal rejected "but we'll accept £20 if you pay now".
Fuck those guys. If you are so certain I was parked illegally, why are they happy to reduce the fine from £100 to £20 just because I appealed it? Off to the ombudsman we go.

Why bother? Just ignore it.

Why bother? Just ignore it.
Because the company in question typically go to small claims court next and this path is easier and lower stress. Not all private parking companies drop things if you ignore.

Don't anthropomorphise your Henry.
He hates it.
I'd be excited to see a film crew where I live, but it'll inevitably either be for Countryfile or a police procedural drama.
