Sadly enough my holy grail watch is still this April fools joke from last year.
Can someone point me in the direction of something with a similar kind of green to ease the pain?

Toxic? lol

Reading that sounds like someone is buttsore
It's very simple: it's a closed system. So their company own the database of words which are mapped to locations and this is not Open Data so the only way of mapping three words to a location, or vice versa, is through their company and its servers.
So what if its closed...
Sheesh

Can you get an offline W3W map with all the areas’ names downloaded? Does W3W work even if the company gets hacked and goes offline?
If not, it adds an extra layer of reliance in an emergency situation. Isn’t that the writer’s point?

More pressing issue this

If the what three words servers go down.. how will I locate the fake (and presumably sodden) empty Rolex box?

But what if its real and there is a watch in there...

If only the box was an Omega and the watch was a Railmaster.
In all seriousness, WHATS IN THE BOX!!
A fox is probably out there wandering around with a new Sea-Dweller on!

Do you think the “Moonswatch” has caused the price of vintage Omega watches to increase?
I am sure that a couple of years ago you could get a good manual wind omega from the 50s/60s for £350ish, now they all seem to be £500+
That £350 price bracket seems filled with moonswatches. (Using eBay as the main guideline on this)
Maybe the introduction of that range as well as the general price rise through the new ranges has caused it.

I think both are caused by the general reduction in the value of your money.
Seems a weird take, they are making it sound like what3words, it's just another option, it doesn't stop the use of grid references or co-ordinates. It has other issues like using similar words or plurals within a close distance so can send you to the wrong place if not communicated correctly but not sure the argument its a private company therefore bad stacks up. And the argument of is your phone charged, is just the same for someone who only carries a GPD device. Not sure too many people want to be pulling out an OS map to find a location near Kilburn station.
