  • ha always have been and still are; different angle too!

  • I drunkenly ordered a pline in H bar flavour. Have always had S bar. Luckily managed to get the order changed with no hassle.

Black P Line on its way...

  • Is this ebay listed brompton rare? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195547272635
    Edit - removed (was £7900...)

  • Thanks for the input @HoKe and @umop3pisdn.

@sbbohr ; do you have experience of carbon bars failing? I thought it was a popular choice and surely handlebars aren't taking a lot of weight? I'm no expert on carbon..
What options are there for lighter, hi-rise alternatives?

  • What’s your end goal btw? To make the Brompton lighter, wider or comfort?

  • Mainly lighter. Comfort trumps aesthetics. Not thought about wider but maybe that could add comfort.

  • Have you checked numbers for the relative weight? The aluminium bars are already pretty light. I can't imagine there's much saving to be had if you're replacing like with like.

People gleefully claiming carbon parts will kill or injure you are best muted.

  • Brompton bits for sale, taken off a 2spd Brompton circa 2017,

    One: stock front wheel
    Two: front and rear reflectors
Three: unpainted rear triangle will come with the Brompton pump that will sit on the pump pegs
Four: stock Brompton pedals, left folds.
Five: stock Brompton crank with chain guard, 170mm 54t chain ring
    Six: firm suspension block.
Not shown: pair of marathon plus tyres, plenty of tread left..

Will do a bit of Googling and add prices.

Collection preferred from south london, but can post the smaller items at cost..

  • If you want lighter then you’re probably best to look at other areas of the Brompton.

From experience, seatpost, saddle, tyres and pedals will make a huge difference.

  • Thanks for the advice. Done all those! Maybe I'll leave the bars for now then. Cheers

  • What’s the weight of your bike now?

  • True, need to do this with my BB and headset.

  • Totally cosmetic ( good name for a band?) however, I just put a red mudguard on my Brompton front, and now I would like a different colour for the rear ( black is a colour IMHO) .. anyway if anyone has anything
    Much love to the forum

  • I’m worried it looks a bit like a toy…. But so it goes

  • Zipped lizards is a better name for a band IMHO.
But that looks good to me.
    Not a toy at all.
ETA - It has to be green for the rear guard - for that RGB look.

  • Like your thinking

  • You got green or you are just styling

  • My guards are Satanic Black.

  • nice

  • I would've done this with mine - but I've gone the Hollowtech route.

  • I’ll take satanic mud guards if that is what has come too

  • ‘It has’ ^

  • Can we see?

  • Maybe a simpler question, how can I make my Brompton look more satanic with a rear mudguard colour, affordable, even though I’m not very satanic…. I mean a bit, but most are, being realistic
