    Tangle quartet = four linear VCAs
    Pip slope = attack/decay envelope generator with looping function
    O/A/x2 = two offset / attenuverters

    All useful but also different.

    There are two main types of VCA, linear and exponential. This is to do with how they respond to CV envelope shapes. Linear is often better for longer amp envelopes - notes gradually decaying etc - while exponential is more for rapid percussive envelopes, transients, things like that.

    The reason I have the Doepfer dual VCA in my rack (the depth only just fits mind) is because they are switchable between lin/exp.

    The more I get into this the more I realise its about modulating voices to get movement.

    Definitely a huge part of it. And that’s why I use the Øchd so much.

  • I'd really like another Veils TBH but now out of stock everywhere. There are loads of VCAs but not so many that do linear and exponential.

    The Noise Engineering Quantas Ampla looks interesting, but that only does linear by looks of it
