Just looked on ebay, some walkmans go for serious money. I must have thrown a fair few of those out over the years.

Speaking of Sony Walkmans just dug this out of a old box, pretty sure I have a few more somewhere.
Not put a battery in it but pretty sure the belts would need replacing by now.

Also some Sony MDR-D77 EGGO headphones - the rubber coating perishes on these with age so
pretty much junk now I think.

I have one of these, a Sony TC-55. It still spins but the belts need replacing. Surprisingly not worth much considering the quality of build.

I'm selling a Quad pre-amp if anyone's interested? Can avoid posting and drop off in London if anyone on here bags it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165873856483

Probs direct drive that one.

No, not disk drive. Something else, definitely not called something to do with "drive" ...
Looks like they went to quartz lock anyway. 🤷♂️

I'm looking to upgrade my home listening/DJ setup. I'll be losing the Pioneer DJM500 and replacing with an Allen and Heath Xone PX5 (Any input gratefully received).
I'll also look at changing the speaker positioning in the room and untangling the nest of cables that has formed. I've also added a dub siren reverb thing which is good fun after only a couple of goes.
I'm looking for suggestions for a suitable amp, probably 2nd hand and ideally from someone on here. I'm thinking something retro, more 80's/90's than 70's. I quite like the look of NAD stuff. Anyone have anything for sale?

Those Nad 302 BEE are excellent (80-100 on eBay). I replaced mine recently with an Onkyo with all the bells and whistles, sounds the same 🤷♂️.

Check out Mojaxx’s review if you haven’t already. Anything Allen & Heath will be brilliant, though. I’ve got a Xone 32 and love it.

Not particularly fancy, but I have a NAD c3020BEE thats been sat under the bed in the spare room since i upgraded a few months back that i've been meaning to put on ebay. Think I have the OG box for it in the attic too.

I would have thought a fanless PA system type amp would be preferable. With a compressor/limiter in front of it. As you don't need pre-amp capabilities. Even class D monoblocks would be an option.

I would start with upgrading the Styluses as a starting point before you go further down the signal path. Ecler makes some nice rotary mixers if you can get over not having a crossfader.
Also worth checking if the crossovers are still good in the speakers. Some caps went on my old but newer than yours B&W DM620i's.

Good to hear, i'll set up an ebay alert.

Yep i've seen all the videos!
They've been unavailable for the last 2 months but a single unit has just come back in stock at just one store. Bit strange. I might just wait a few weeks till they're properly back in stock in case there's something fishy going on.

I'm happy with my ortofon styluses, I did look at Ecler rotary mixers funnily, I had a slimline Ecler back in the day and really liked it.
I have no idea how to check if the caps or crossovers are still good, I've been dragging them around and rinsing them since I swiped them from my dad in the 90's, so they're probably fucked. I wonder if there's some kind of audio workout you can give them to fault find. I'm so busy though, I'll try a new mixer and amp and hope for the best probably.

Disc Drive?
Like, in their classic Walkmen?
