I fitted a suit for him when I worked in Harvey Nichols years ago. He brought his translator with for the sole reason of telling me that whilst the chest fitted and the arms were perfect, the trousers weren't going to work at all. So, I broke the rules and gave him a pair of trousers from the next size up because the waist size on the original pair didn't equate to just how big his thighs were.
I later sold that suit with the different trouser size to John Terry.
He was the first footballer to wear a suit for post match interviews - everyone else gave monosyllabic responses in a track suit and covered in hair gel. Vialli regarded football as his profession and like many other professionals, he felt the need to wear a suit to work.
