I kinda liked going for the AAA thing because it gave me a focus but I'd prefer something that didn't stretch over a year and get in the way of other things. I can't win events now and I'm unlikely to get the motivation to just "beat PBs" so focus has moved towards seeing new stuff. I'm still a competitive idiot though so I dunno how it's gonna pan out. It's not like I was fast in the old days, but being shit didn't stop me trying. Now I just can't be arsed trying. I have enough stubbornness and residual talent/knowledge/whatever to get me through most events but there comes a point where you wonder why you're entering. Then I realise if there wasn't an event I'd certainly not pull my finger out to organise a tour.. so better keep entering events :)
I'm still a bit jet lagged though and post xmas with the family is always depressing. "oh look I'm back in the UK... fark"

I haven't raced for a few years now, I totally lost motivation to train at any intensity. I just enjoy bimbling around now with a camera.
Really got back into MTB riding the last 3 or 4 yrs since packing in racing/road stuff.Having said that, I did a few decent road rides before Christmas because I couldn't face cleaning my MTB and really enjoyed it!
It ain't getting easier with age is it!?!
