For people not familiar with what she is referencing. tldr: its a hateful lie.
-
• #79978
Alison Pearson can be relied on to be consistently vile, absolutely hateful
-
• #79979
In her defence, it pays well.
-
• #79980
She’s certainly monetised being a cunt

The history books will have to be rewritten. They'll quite simply say 'Prince William punched Prince Harry'. Everything else will be a footnote.

If brothers having a tussle is history my two lads make history at least 3 times a day.

Are they 40 and 38 too?

Eddie is gonna cause a real Stamp-ede... (phnar phnar)

Tories making a big step towards making strikes illegal.
And what moral standing do they have in outlawing teachers striking for fuck sake?

And what moral standing do they have in outlawing teachers striking for fuck sake?
Won't someone think of the poor children's education?
Loony lefty teachers holding kids futures ransom
etc. -

making strikes illegal.
Exactly the kind of law people should strike against to get it repealed.
-
• #79989
Ah. If you’d done a Mary Whitehouse Experience one I’d have got it.

Another lesson by the Tories in how to piss off another whole section of the Electorate (12-15 months or so away from the next GE)?

Will the minimum service level apply to the train companies that rely on over time to be able to run a service, forcing them to employ more people or will work to rule also be banned.
-
• #79992
That is peak Tory. Imagine having so little empathy that you think the only solution to stopping people striking is to outlaw striking.
-
• #79993
I was under the impression that the NHS would be receiving an extra £340mill a week, did I misread that?
-
• #79994
Makes perfect sense, if you are a Tory, if strikes give workers power then lets outlaw strikes.
See also that policing bill that bans a lot of protests and has clauses written against climate activism protests.

I work with special needs and vulnerable kids in mainstream education. Often school is the only safe space that they have and the only place that a shocking number of kids will get a hot meal, breakfast and snacks during the day.
It’s more than just education that they’d miss.
I’m in a union, I’d still go to work.

• #79996
Yeah you did, it was £350m
-
• #79997
Given Gov want to be able to sue Unions if minimum service levels not met, would be nice if it went both ways and we could sue Gov if they don't hit minimum service levels
-
• #79998
This was basically the response from the Nursing union, basically they want minimum staffing levels ALL THE TIME not just for strikes.
-
• #79999
Yeh Mick Lynch was saying yesterday that minimum service levels would make it impossible for certain trades to strike such as signallers

Schools aren't childcare. If society is failing children it's not on schools to carry the can.
It's unremarkable that someone like Allison Pearson writes spiteful nonsense, but still:
