Why you getting rid of this amazing frameset?
-
• #453
Well… it was always my dream (track) frameset so getting rid is probably a bit too harsh
I put it online expecting it to take months to sell but then it took 36hrs lol
The frameset was an opportunity a year ago and within that year I made the perfect build out if it (for my standards).
at this point I always start to think about the use of the finished project. And with the frame being used ~5 times in a year it is a bit too much budget resting in the basement.
Also, I wanted some (financial) flexibility with all the saeco framesets lining up and having the ambition to make a kick-ass mgoof next year
(That said, note that some years ago I decided to spend money on bikes only from money off of bikes and not let that hobby affect my salary/savings. So with this thumb rule in mind I think it made sense to let it go)
@kjlem before I got the 496 I had no trackbike for a year and as I was not happy without a trackbike.
So yea… there will be definitely something coming. Depends a bit on whether I will sell the wheels and crankset, too. If yes, probably steel (njs?), if not, maybe 2000-is aero (alloy)? Open for inspo :-))
Probably a bit more budget friendly than the LOOK, lets see :-)

All my bikes are funded this way but your pot must be a lot larger than mine! Sad that you're moving on the Look but if it opens up new possibilities then i'm all for it. If the Black DA ring becomes available i'd be interested pending tooth count.

Well, I am not keeping track of the pot numbers but since I have made this decision, the last bikes in here I paid from salary money were the allez sprint and the orlowski.
The black DA ring is for sale in any case as I have a 50t and a 51t and I only need one of them (i dont care which one tbh). Condition ist very good on both, so happy if you send me a DM if that would be of interest for you.
Crankset, bars, pedals and wheels are also for sale in case anyone is interested
Cheers

While I am still in the process of making space for the upcoming projects (saeco/fixed) by selling some parts, I got the chance of revising and sorting my little cave
Next to all the kids handling lately, this was a very pleasing process (and result)
😌😌😌
Oh and not to forget: Merry christmas y‘all

Okay…
Everytime I feel confident not to put too much effort into a build, I arrive at a point where I suddenly change my mind 🤔🤔🤔
Well, whatever, in any case I am pretty stoked to spoiler the new (vintage) cockpit for the M800
Loving the magnesium in particular.. never seen it before
Hope you like it too

Hyperons are top tier
-
• #467
I saw them years ago on a very nice mgoof build in here and wanted a pair ever since.
90% they come up in tub version 😕
This time they thankfully came up for a reasonable price so I could not pass.
In parallel I am messaging some guy on ebay whethet he can do me some replacement decals in all black 😛😛😛

Hyperons are like Corima winium but cooler !
-
• #469
Thanks - thats what i thought, too!
A friend told me that in the earlier days corima produced carbon wheeels for campa
Does anyone know if thats correct and, if so, which period that was?

On another note, hyperons came in yesterday and they are really in a great state even though i think they are one of the ealier pairs, i.e. 2005ish
From my visual inspection, they have either seen less than 1,000km and/or have almost never been used downhill
I need to change the freehub though as is it very unlikely that I will have the financial capabilities to run a campa group. So i need to figure out which freehub fits and how to change that - any hints?
What also arrived is the stem including computer mount for the saeco build (second hand of course):
Enve Aero 110mm with -7, -12 and -17 degree shims

Now that parts for (one of) the saeco(s) are about to being sorted, there is just one major question mark that remains:
Groupset.
I think I will go 2x11 mechanical in any case.
even tho the hyperons are campa ready freehub wise, campa is out of my budget so this leaves shimano and sram
from what i know, sram RED 2x11 mechanical is rare (and expensive) af so this in fact leaves shimano
as I cannot cope with the two tone DA 9000 this leads to DA 9100 being the only remaining option
OR, as I am a big fan of money for value, Ultegra 8000? Got this on my SL6 and I think it looks and works great. Plus, if you need a replacement part, most of the time ist not much more than a €100 invest
I got Ultegra 6800 on my zwift bike (photo attached) which looks and works fine, too, but I definitely prefer the looks of the 8000 crankset
Any Opinions/leads?
