watched last night, really good movie about an auction house owner being asked to value and sell the contents of a house owned by a mysterious woman, great characters and an interesting plot

    polar
generic movie about a hit man retiring from the business, ok, a few laughs, but not really all that great

    the banshees of inisherin
watched after seeing it being recommended above, beautifully shot, good story line, details the life of people on a small island just off the coast of eire (?) in 1923

the wages of fear ( la salaire de la peur )
set in a south american country following the trails and tribulations of a set of international characters french spanish american german, struggling to make a living in a dusty hot town, when a risky job transporting nitro-glycerin comes up only 4 people can get the lucrative gig, tense comradery takes shape amongst the people selected for the job.

    triangle of sadness
again watched due to the recommendations above, good piss take of the modern world, bloggers narcissists billionaires fashion models, a tables turned scenario which leads to some good role reversals amongst the characters, the stormy weather scenes reminiscent of high rise by ben wheatley where the idylic worlds slowly and comically falls apart

Have you seen Sorcerer? A truly excellent film based on the same source material. Directed by William Friedkin. Unbelievably tense throughout.
