1x9 rigid test ride. Could be fun. Plan is to fit Big Apples & Swytch kit as a crazy commuter build, but I'm now hoping it'll be quick n easy to swap between that and this setup for trails.
P.s. Might chuck an extra link in that chain.

Big Apples fitted for commute, was fun to ride. Need to bodge some full length mudguards for more regular commute use I guess.
1 x 9 range good with 38t upfront.

N-2 freed up bars & stem from the pompino to go onto this, narrower more upright. Full guards & rack decisions next.

should be okay.
had 29x2.0 race kings in a cotic simple frame, which is known to have a high bb (with 26inch wheels), and it did ride very good. -

I have found a 26” wheel in my shed. Campag and 8/9
Speed o think.
Does anyone still use these? Can I sell it to you? -

I want to find an Inbred to build up for my youngest's birthday. At 5'4", should I be looking for a 14" frame?
If anyone's looking to part with one I'm obviously interested. Cheers

Jesus, imagine how big I'd be if I added extra growth hormones into the mix? :D

It's got a sloping top tube, just get some real swept bars and a short stem. Job done :)

Hey, I'm new to the inbred vibe - but loving these builds. Quick question - what are everyone's thoughts regarding frame and wheel sizes for using as a single speed daily/commuter (station bike)? Is an older v-brake 26" frame/fork a good option or would a newer 29er disc brake carbon fork a more practical solution?
-
• #169
Both will be fine as a commuter but 26" with v-brakes is more bombproof

Hmm... Am tempted by this (26 v-brake) - mainly by the fork. Is the steel fork better/worse than the carbon version? Also, what headset and bb does it use (integrated 1 1/8)?

That's cool! Especially with the horizontal drop-outs.
The fork it's not better or worse, it's stronger than carbon (and looks cooler imo) but it weighs a lot more.
Yep standard BSA BB and 1 1/8" external headset. -

Just looking at the fork again, does it have disc mounts?
-
• #173
It does, but also canti mounts
-
• #174
Isn't it getting harder to source decent 26" rims for rim brake use?

I am thinking about whether I want a suspension fork for my 29er Inbred. The problem is I know nothing about suspension forks.
What are good quality forks that work with the straight steerer and the frame geo and preferably are lockable too?
Oh, and they shouldn't look shit.
Any hints?
i will continue my manifesting 😌
