  • Thats particularly harsh of them to charge a London tax, as I'm in Manchester. I'll shop around more, maybe easier after New Year as I can try printers near my office then. Ta for the benchmark.

  • Was under 20 last time I had something that size printed round here.

  • My local printer would do it for way less and I'm in central London.

    #nojoke

  • Do they post? ;)

  • If a Shimano M506 lever takes a BH59 hose and a 105 calliper takes BH90, are they compatible?

If so, which hose should I use?

  • Sure they do, I'll swing by and ask on Saturday!

  • BH90, 59 is the old hose.

Was pleasantly surprised they still used it in the road hydro setups.

  • I’m helping clear out my mother in law’s house, she used to be a restorer and has some guilted frames which are the real deal, even if they aren’t to my taste (should ‘my taste’ be >>> gc?), anyway, who should I send pics to get them valued/sold please?

  • Do not however tempted you are use one of those salvage company who'll charge for removal of anything including prized possessions.

The internet would be your best friend, it's a chance to learn something of your MIL loved.

  • I've got an 18 year old Australian lad visiting me at the end of the month for a night/day (a distant relative, nothing dodgy). It's his first time in the UK, any suggestions for stuff to do with him? I don't know him well at all but I reckon a combo of touristy and "authentic" stuff is the best bet.

  • The last Aussie 18 yr old we entertained was really into Sherlock, so we took her to a couple of those locations (then we got involved in a bit of argy-bargy on Old Crompton Street, which was probably more memorable for her). A couple of years earlier we took some other (much older) friends on the Waterloo - Westminster - Southbank - Tower bridge - St Pauls walk, which was much appreciated. I would have thought a tourist bus ride, a museum and a couple of pubs should do it.

  • we got involved in a bit of argy-bargy on Old Crompton Street

Presumably about your pronunciation of Compton

  • a tourist bus ride

    The no 11

  • Go to Green park and kill a swan.

  • Ask what he's into, then plan.

I'll lend him a Brompton if he's into bikes!

  • Why would I ask HIM what he's in to when I can ask a load of strangers on the internet to guess instead?? Thanks for the offer, I've got a spare bike to lend him if he's in to it though!

  • I had a mate over recently (notionally much older than 18 but are any of us really?) and the Big hit was setting us both up with lime bikes (you can buy a pass giving you 120 minutes and the ability to book for 30 mins so easy to keep your bike when you find one you like) and we basically did a bit of the cobble monster route in reverse (I'm SE), hit up and great view spots, ride to the river, find some interesting cycle paths etc and ended up in town for a gig. All interspersed with historic pubs or cool breweries etc. The acceleration on the lime bikes brings smiles and he def felt he got a mixture of history, sights and contemporary London vibes....

  • Did you run over a swan?

  • No, sadly not. Got to leave something to keep them coming back...

  • I need a new 27mm crown race for cartridge bearings in a 1" headset. These seem to be cheap and abundant in the US, but not over here.

I can find a J&L one on eBay for £14.60-something delivered, or there's a £15.99 M-Part Sport headset that comes with both 26.4 and 27mm crown races. Nothing at SJS Cycles. Anywhere else I should look?
